Study Abroad

Macquarie is Australia’s most active university in terms of hosting study abroad and exchange students from around the world and sending its own students overseas. In 2007, more than 1,500 students from 50 nations spent a semester or two experiencing all that Sydney has to offer, while 1,200 Macquarie students traveled overseas for an adventure of their own.

Outbound

If you’re considering enrolling as a full degree student at Macquarie, you’ll be glad to know that our outbound program is the largest of its kind in Australia. Nearly 30 per cent of the University's 2007 graduating cohort undertook an overseas study experience as part of their degree.

Macquarie has partnerships with over 300 institutions in 60 countries worldwide, providing students with a wide range of overseas exchange or travel opportunities. For postgraduate students, there are also short-term programs available during semester breaks.

If you choose to participate (and why wouldn’t you?), you will be supported by the Vice-Chancellor's Travel Grant Scheme, a generous scholarship program to assist students in undertaking an international experience while at Macquarie. It is the most generous program of its kind in Australia, and all participating students receive a grant depending on the location and duration of their travel.
