Map of Australia Canberra

The Australian Captial Territory is one of two Territories in Australia.  It is situated in bushland within New South Wales and is relatively small when compared to other states and territories in Australia.

It is a very small territory however, it has lots to offer. The largest city in the territory is Canberra, Australia’s capital city however, it also contains a number of charming smaller towns.

Canberra

Canberra is the capital of Australia with a population of around 325,000 people. Canberra’s unique contrast of nature and urban living was planned in 1912 by master designer, Walter Burley Griffin, a Chicago architect who won an international design competition.

This amazing urban design gives to Canberra a feeling of order and freedom. Canberra is also the host of the Australian Federal Government and National Museums, Galleries and the main treasures of the nation.

Canberra is also the site of Parliament House, the High Court of Australia and a significant number government departments and agencies.
