During this session you will go through the enrolment process. This is a very important part of your experience because you will select your units for the following semester. It is recommend that you think carefully about what units you want to take and get academic advice to help you make this decision. In some cases, the enrolment process takes a lot of your time. So it is better to prepare for it and take it easy. It is also very important to bring all the documentation required to your scheduled enrolment session. If you have any questions it is important to contact your institution before enrolment day. Orientation sessions may include academic events such as registration, enrolment into your individual units or subjects, information sessions as well as campus tours. But they usually include fun and social activities too which will help you meet other new and current students and to get to know your campus. The length and structure of these sessions vary between each institution. In all of them, the main objective is to help you to prepare for your studies and to help you adjust to your life in Australia. We highly recommend these sessions (sometimes they are compulsory) as they really give you valuable information to help you understand your new environment. It is worth to invest a couple of hours to gather relevant information and avoid problems later. We also know that many international students make their best friends during these activities. For more information on Orientation sessions we suggest you to contact your institution before your departure. |
