 International Student Services

Student services

Macquarie has a dedicated International Student Services team, who can help with almost any enquiry – accommodation, health cover, fees, social activities, study skills workshops, and personal welfare. International Student Services provide a comprehensive orientation program for all international students at the beginning of each semester, and organise social events throughout the year.

Library services

The Macquarie University library provides access to over 250 databases; 130,000 e-books; more than 67,000 electronic journals; books, printed resources, multimedia via the catalogue and links to services, training and research help. Other services include photocopying and printing, a Learning Lounge, wireless internet, group study rooms, a multimedia room, a presentation practice room and a postgraduate reading room.

The library’s resources can be accessed online from anywhere in the world. In 2010 Macquarie University will be opening a new library.

Study skills programs

All international students have access to support programs in computer skills, academic writing, desktop publishing, library research skills and many other areas. A Study Skills Coordinator also provides individual consultations and study skills workshops.

Accommodation

Macquarie University has a dedicated accommodation service which can give you information on your accommodation options, including temporary accommodation, university accommodation and private accommodation. An airport pick-up service is also available.

Residential colleges

The two residential colleges are located right on campus and close to the Macquarie Centre shops and cinemas. They have a great community atmosphere, with local Australian and international students sharing a lively social life, common room and dining facilities.

Macquarie apartments

A Macquarie apartment allows you more flexibility than living in a college. Each apartment is usually shared by two to four students. All Macquarie’s apartments are located within walking distance of the campus, and are fully furnished. Each apartment has a full kitchen and laundry, so you can self-cater.

Macquarie University Village

Focused on providing you with the total university experience, the Village offers plenty of activities to keep you entertained, informed and healthy. Students live in five-bedroom, fully-furnished townhouses with ensuite bathrooms and shared living and kitchen spaces.
