 Student Services at CME
Students at CME get the individual support they need, with only 14 to 18 students in each class. The teaching staff are highly qualified, skilled, friendly and helpful, and will provide you with individual attention and specific feedback throughout your English course.
Special care and support is always available to ensure that students are happy and comfortable. CME’s Academic Advisors will be able to answer any questions you have about your course or study pathway. There are also trained counsellors on campus who you will be able to speak to if you have a personal problem or concern.
CME has teachers or support services staff members who speak numerous languages to make students feel more comfortable.
Accommodation
There are a number of accommodation options available for students.
Homestay Accommodation
Staying with an Australian family gives you the opportunity to experience Australian lifestyles. You can learn about Australian customs quickly and will have plenty of opportunities to improve your English. Australia is a multicultural country. Host families come from diverse ethnic backgrounds but mainly speak English at home. This diversity allows you to have a taste of different cultures and their food. Students or agents should contact the Homestay Agency directly for any Homestay Accommodation needs.
University Accommodation
Macquarie University has a range of different accomodation available to students both on-campus and off-campus.
Residential colleges
The two residential colleges at Macquarie University are both located right on campus. The benefits of staying in a residential college are that all your meals are provided for you, rooms are fully furnished and you will only have a very short walk to lectures or the library. The colleges also have a great community atmosphere, with hundreds of local Australian and international students sharing common room and dining facilities.
Macquarie apartments
All Macquarie’s apartments are located within walking distance of the campus, and are fully furnished. Each apartment has a full kitchen and laundry, so you can self-cater. Meals and cleaning are not included, but life in a Macquarie apartment allows you more flexibility than living in a college. Each apartment is usually shared by two to four students.
